Municipal Priorities

Downtown revitalization

The City must protect the integrity of our quaint Downtown District by supporting viable economic development initiatives while preserving the historical charm, Western Reserve architecture and green space that is unique to Independence.

financial stability

In order to ensure long term financial stability, the City must streamline processes and maximize efficiencies to reduce expenditures.  It is not only necessary to pay down current city debt and spend conservatively, but to also search for alternative funding sources for future projects and initiatives.

Enhanced City Services

Our exceptional City services and programs are among the top-rated in the county. It is important that we continue to look for ways to maintain and improve upon our existing services, as well as look for additional opportunities that may be beneficial to our residents and business community.

safety services

Our Police & Fire Departments work tirelessly to provide excellent safety services to our community. It is crucial that the City Administration work diligently to support the initiatives of these departments in order to keep our community safe.

Economic Development

Independence has been blessed with an opportune location in the “Heart of Cuyahoga County.” Our Rockside Road Corridor has historically been the powerhouse that fuels us., but we must adapt to the remote workforce model to meet the needs of our business community.
